Jiaxing, China – November 2025 – Jiaxing Jingyin Biotechnology Co., Ltd., parent company of Beijing OKVD Biological Technology Co., Ltd., has been officially shortlisted for the second batch of China’s national “Unveiling the Leaderboard” innovation program for biomedical materials, jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The company was selected under the high-purity acrylic ester monomer (MMA) track — a category identified as a critical upstream material bottleneck for the domestic biomedical industry.
Only 86 units nationwide were selected across 35 targeted high-end material categories, making this shortlisting a significant national endorsement of Jingyin’s technological capabilities in foundational material innovation.
What Is High-Purity Acrylic Ester Monomer and Why Does It Matter?
Acrylic ester monomers, particularly methyl methacrylate (MMA), are the fundamental building blocks for a wide range of medical-grade polymers used in clinical practice. They serve as the raw material for bone cement, dental restorative resins, orthopedic implant fixation materials, and various other medical devices that require high strength, biocompatibility, and long-term stability.
However, the domestic supply of high-purity medical-grade MMA monomer has long been dominated by a handful of international suppliers, creating a dependency that poses risks to both supply chain security and cost control. Impurities at the monomer level can directly compromise the mechanical properties, curing behavior, and biological safety of the final medical product — making purity control a matter of patient safety.
The MIIT-NMPA program specifically targets such bottlenecks, aiming to accelerate the domestic development and industrialization of high-purity acrylic ester monomers that meet stringent medical-grade standards. Jingyin’s inclusion in this track signals that the company possesses the technical expertise to address this national priority.
